What is the best way to clean stainless steel jewelry?
My husband and i got stainless steel wedding bands, as I am allergic to most other metals.
Our bands are partially polished and partially etched.
How do I best clean them? Are there any must dos? bad practices? absolutely nevers?
will regular jewlery cleaners work? or do I have to get ones specific to stainless steel?
You dont ever want to use jewelry cleaners, even if they come from a jeweler. They break down the metal and can make the metal weak over time. The best way to clean that type of jewelry is to hold it in the steam that comes out of the vent when your dishwasher is going through the drying cycle then take a jewelry polishing cloth and polish it up! You can also do as the other person said a non abrasive toothpaste or dishsoap and a soft toothbrush for stones and to get inside any etching.
