Is it ok to accessorize a yellow short prom dress with black shoes and jewelry?

I’m not a fashion professional or anything but I think a short yellow prom dress would look awesome with black shoes and jewelry, I’ve seen a few people do the yellow/black combination like that and it looks great!
It’s all about personal preference sometimes though, if you put it on and it looks good then I say go for it! Everyone won’t like it.. but it’ll be that way no matter what you wear, but if you feel good you won’t care so much
